| date: Feb 13th 2006 14:32
On the occasion of the official opening of the 20th Winter Olympic Games in Turin, and as a contribution to environmental protection, Iveco has delivered to the Turin Transport Group (GTT)...
two hybrid minibuses with diesel engines for inner-city shuttle services. The vehicles hybrid drive system was developed in collaboration with Bosch. The company has been involved with hybrid technologies – i.e. the combination of combustion engine and electric drive – for more than 30 years. Bosch has know-how in gasoline and diesel injection as well as in hybrid drives, including brake system and energy management. Such a wide knowledge base is essential for competently coping with the task of systems integration of hybrid systems. For this very purpose, Bosch founded the Project Center Hybrid Systems at the beginning of 2004. By the end of 2005, more than 100 associates were already working in development and sales of hybrid systems. Additional staff in other Bosch divisions support the team, which means that some 200 associates are involved in this new business area.
