A Bosch anniversary Tested and proven 25 million times

date: Aug 8th 2005 16:02

Common Rail from Bosch Makes diesel engines clean, economic, powerful and quiet.

End of July, Bosch delivered the 25 millionth Common Rail injection system for diesel engines. In 2004 alone, the automotive supplier manufactured 5.8 million systems. Dr. Ulrich Dohle, President of the Bosch Diesel Systems Division, summed up the reason for this success as follows: Common Rail turns diesel engines into fuel efficient, clean, high-torque and quiet running engines . The Common Rail system s concept allows for a flexible break-down into several pilot, main and post injections which can be optimally tuned to engine and injection system.

---- do not remove it is spacer ---- Continuously improved high-pressure injection systems by Bosch – since 1997 Common Rail and since 1998 also the Unit Injector – have made a decisive contribution since the beginning of the nineties to reducing particulate emission in new diesel-powered passenger cars by 90 percent and other emissions (carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons) by at least 95 percent, while meeting the EU-4 norm. Modern diesel engines are cleaner than ever , Dohle concluded. The extremely low emission of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, which is in line with the low fuel consumption, qualifies diesel power as a future drive for modern passenger cars. Great fuel economy means equally great mileage with one tank filling. Dohle: With diesel power, drivers save time and money when filling up.
