Dell Announces Nationwide Back-to-School Design Contest

Company to Give Away $10,000 Prize, Notebook Computers

As thoughts turn from summer vacations and backyard barbecues to study hall and term papers, Dell today announced a nationwide $10,000 notebook skin design contest and a daily notebook giveaway.

---- do not remove it is spacer ---- The efforts are part of the company’s Back to School campaign which kicks off today and runs through Aug. 31.

---- do not remove it is spacer ---- The contest gives consumers even more choice to personalize their new, built-to-order systems by having them design a skin, or cover, that can be adhered to the back of a notebook computer. The creator of the winning design will receive a $10,000 grand prize, an InspironTM notebook computer and their own personalized skin.

---- do not remove it is spacer ---- Contestants can submit design entries at www.dell.com/backtoschool. Dell’s product designers will judge all entries and choose the top 10 finalists. The winner will be determined by voters from across the country who will choose their favorite design online.

---- do not remove it is spacer ---- We’re seeing more customers who want to personalize their products to fit their individuality, said Rocky Mountain, vice president, U.S. Consumer. Customers can get the notebook computer of their choice when they shop at Dell, including adding a bit of flair for personalization.

---- do not remove it is spacer ---- Dell also announced it will give away 12 notebook computers a day until August 31 to random winners of an online game. Players can choose to try and win an XPSTM 1210, Inspiron E1705, E1505 or E1405 notebook computer, and a skin from the 75 college logos and other colorful designs available. Four hundred and thirty two winners will be chosen instantly during the instant win game all other game players will receive exclusive offers on products.
