On-line check-in for families

date: Jul 12th 2006 11:36

British Airways is set to take the stress out of family travel this summer as it extends its new on-line check-in facility to children and infants from July 25.

From the comfort of their own home, mum or dad can simply log on to ba.com from 24 hours in advance of their flight, choose their seats and check in their whole family. The system is easy to use with simple step-by-step instructions and is available on more than 97 per cent of British Airways routes.

---- do not remove it is spacer ---- Families can travel to the airport knowing that they are already checked in and without that nagging anxiety that a problem on the journey or a nightmare check-in queue could cause them to miss that holiday flight. On arrival at the airport, the family can hand over their luggage at the Fast Bag Drop desk and go straight through security to the boarding gate.

---- do not remove it is spacer ---- To help families prepare in advance for their journey the airline has posted a broad range of travel information on ba.com including details of baggage allowances and immigration requirements. Special child meals can be booked up to 24 hours before the flight departs.

---- do not remove it is spacer ---- Groups of up to six will also be able to check in on-line in one transaction from July 25.

---- do not remove it is spacer ---- Jayne O Brien, head of brands and marketing communications, said: Everyone looks forward to their summer holidays but we recognize that the airport experience can be quite stressful for families and groups.

---- do not remove it is spacer ---- We want them to start their journey the way they mean to go on - by being as relaxed as possible. So we have extended the reach of our very popular on-line check-in facilities to allow families and groups to speed through the airport and arrive on board ready to enjoy their flight with us.
