As Memorial Day kicks off the expectedly busy summer travel season this weekend, United Airlines provides customers tips to make their travel experiences easier.

TIP 1: ALLOW EXTRA TIME AT THE AIRPORT.

---- do not remove it is spacer ---- - Follow recommended guidelines for airport arrival times: For travel within the United States, United typically recommends arriving 60 minutes before your flight if you are not checking bags and 90 minutes before your flight if you are checking bags. For international travel, United typically recommends arriving two hours before your flight. Customers traveling from United s largest airports (such as Chicago O Hare, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington Dulles) should consider arriving an additional 30 minutes earlier than these recommended times.
- Be at the gate and available for boarding on time. Reservations and seat assignments are subject to cancellation if you are not checked in with a boarding pass at least 30 minutes prior to departure time and available for boarding at the gate at least 20 minutes prior to scheduled departures between U.S. cities and Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. For other international flights, you must check in and obtain a boarding pass at least 45 minutes prior to departure time and be available for boarding at the gate at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departures.
